PROCLAMATION

Resolution in Memory of Joseph (Joe) Incoronato

 

WHEREAS, the Town of Wappinger and the broader community lost a valued member and leader on December 5, 2022, with the death of Joe Incoronato; and

WHEREAS, Joe Incoronato served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956; and

WHEREAS, he served as a Wappinger Town Councilman for three terms and as a Dutchess County Legislatorfor 10 years representing the Town of Wappinger; and

WHEREAS, he served as a Trustee on the Wappingers Central School District Board for 12 years; and

WHEREAS, While on the School Board, he was instrumental in establishing the chess clubs at James Evans Elementary and Van Wyck Middle Schools, where he mentored students in learning to play the game; and

WHEREAS, Joe Incoronato was much loved and respected by his family, friends, co-workers; and

WHEREAS, on behalf of the Town of Wappinger, we recognize the significant contributions of Joe Incoronato over the course of his distinguished career and mourns his death; now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Town of Wappinger Supervisor and Town Board hereby extends its sincerest condolences to his friends and family and passes this resolution on this day, 12th of December, 2022, in memory of Joseph Incoronato.
