Wappinger Town Lowers Flags To Half Mast In Memory Of Former Councilman Robert Valdati

The Town of Wappinger is saddened to learn of the passing of former Councilman Robert Valdati. Supervisor Richard L. Thurston has directed flags at the Memorial Plaza in front of Wappinger Town Hall to be lowered to half-mast. Mr. Valdati, served the Town of Wappinger in various capacities for more than 30 years.

Robert was born on June 22, 1948 and lived on South Avenue in the Village of Wappingers Falls.  He was elected to serve the people of the First Ward as their Councilman, serving on the Town Board from January 1, 1987 until December 31, 2006. Former Councilman Valdati was especially known for his commanding presence in the Town Board Meeting Room. He was later appointed to the Town Planning Board on June 25, 2007 where he had served until his passing. While on the Planning Board he served as Chairman of the Board from 2013 to 2017 . Robert was also appointed to serve as a member of the Town of Wappinger Board of Ethics in 2008.

Rest in peace Robert. You will be missed.
