Councilman Al Casella Ward 4

Councilman Al Casella oversees the northern part of Wappinger in Ward 4, which consists of New Hackensack hamlet, Myers Corners hamlet, Diddell hamlet, Hudson Valley Regional Airport, Blackwatch Farms, Carmel Heights, Edgehill Manor, Panorama Acres, Royal Ridge, Serenity Mission, Sherwood Heights, Spring Terrace, and Wyndham Crossing neighborhoods. Councilman Casella previously served the Town of Wappinger as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals as the Vice Chairman for 5 years and was appointed ZBA Chairman in 2019. Casella brings 35 years plus of private sector experience to the Wappinger Town Board and was elected to serve in November of 2019, then taking office in 2020.

The Town of Wappinger is governed by a Town Board consisting of the Supervisor and four Council members. The Supervisor is the presiding officer. The Board adopts resolutions, ordinances and local laws, and approves the annual budget and tax levy. The Council Members are elected to represent their ward for a two-year term.

The Town Board meets bi-weekly on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:00 PM at Wappinger Town Hall.
