Those persons using the recycling center for commercial purposes shall have their license revoked and shall not be eligible to reapply for a period of 5 years following a revocation of a license.

*** IMPORTANT *** For new recycle center users and users renewing their license with a new vehicle please email a copy of driver’s license and vehicle registrations to lmcconologue@townofwappingerny.gov or mail to our address 20 Middlebush Road Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
After documents are received and processed, recycle center licenses will be mailed to the provided address.

The inclusion of Garbage Tickets as part of the annual license has reduced town hall traffic during the COVID-19 pandemic and has worked very well. In a continued effort to reduce town hall traffic, the following fee structure will be in place for 2025:

The annual pass includes:
· Household Garbage
· Right to register 2 vehicles registered to the resident’s address only
· The right to purchase an Alternative Vehicle pass for a one time use
· Electronics are not allowed.

Re-enforcement of the Recycle Center rules are as follows:
· Only vehicles registered to a town ‘Resident’ are licensed to use the recycle center.
· Contractors are not licensed to use the center for their businesses.
· Businesses are not residents.
· Landlords living outside the Town are not residents.
· Each Household is entitled to 2 vehicles both of which are registered under the household address. P.O. boxes are not allowed unless proof of residence is furnished by the owner of the vehicle.
· Relatives living at different addresses within the town must obtain their own pass. Relatives living at different addresses outside the town cannot obtain a pass. Should a resident with an annual pass need a larger vehicle to haul recyclables, then they will need to purchase an Alternate Vehicle pass for $20.

BY ORDER OF THE TOWN BOARD

With immediate effect, the following guidelines are in place:

1. A valid Scannable Vehicle Registration is now mandatory for town residents to obtain a recycling center pass. This applies specifically to vehicles registered to a Town of Wappinger address.
2. In the event that the scan code is obstructed, the driver’s license must be presented, and it must match the address on the vehicle registration.
3. No exceptions will be made for unregistered, expired vehicles, or flagged residences.
4. Trailers registered out of state are allowed only if an annual license for the specific vehicle is possessed. All other trailers must be registered with the resident’s Town of Wappinger address.
5. P.O. Boxes are acceptable only if proof of residence is provided. Such proof can be established through a driver’s license with the resident’s town street listed or by presenting documentation using the seven-point system, such as a cable bill, utility bill, or acknowledgement of voter registration in our system.

These measures are implemented to ensure that the recycling center is utilized exclusively by residents, discouraging commercial or out-of-town use. Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is greatly appreciated and will help prevent the misuse of town services.
