As the 23rd Anniversary of September 11th approaches, we are again reminded of the sacrifices made each and every day by the first responders who serve our Town of Wappinger.

In an effort to highlight each agency – fire, police, EMS, and dispatchers – and to provide recognition for first responders who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, the Town of Wappinger hosted the 8th Annual Town of Wappinger First Responder Awards on Sunday, September 15th at 6pm at Town Hall.

Lifesaving, Meritorious Action, and Unit Citation Awards will be presented to individuals and units meeting specific criteria. Criteria is set forth in the attached application.

The seven previous years have been well attended events with recognition presented to over one-hundred first responders representing all agencies within the town and village, in addition to recognizing dispatchers and call-takers from Dutchess County 911.
