Updated – Supervisor Thurston Declares State of Emergency in the Town of Wappinger lifted at 9:00am

***Supervisor Thurston Lifts State of Emergency***
 
Effective at 9:00am, Supervisor Richard L. Thurston lifted his State of Emergency in the Town of Wappinger limiting unnecessary travel to and through the Town of Wappinger.
 
Please be advised, not all roads are open during this time. Town Highway, County DPW, and State DOT are still out actively surveying roadways, drainage easements, bridges, and other infrastructure assets.
Chelsea Boat Launch and Docks are Closed Until September 3
Please continue to use caution during this time and do not drive through high water if you encounter it.
***Supervisor Thurston Declares State of Emergency in the Town of Wappinger***
 
In conjunction with Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro, Supervisor Richard L. Thurston has declared a State of Emergency in the Town of Wappinger effective at 1:57am.
 
Wappinger Town Hall will have a delayed opening at 10:00am on Thursday, September 2, 2021.
 
Both government agencies are urging residents to please STAY HOME as the remnants of Hurricane Ida continue to pound our area.
 
Most State and County Roads in the Town are FLOODED including but not limited to Old Hopewell Road.
 
Supervisor Thurston just spoke on the phone with the County Executive, and the County’s Emergency Operation Center on updates on the storm.
 
The fire companies, Town Highway Department, and County Sheriff’s office are out covering the effected roadways.
