Wappinger, NY – At no cost to taxpayers, the Town of Wappinger has partnered with Aguado Landscaping to “adopt” the roundabout and pocket park in the New Hackensack hamlet along Route 376, New Hackensack Road, and All Angels Hill Road.
The new roundabout, constructed and funded by the New York State Department of Transportation was turned over to the Town of Wappinger at the end of last year for maintenance and ongoing beautification. Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini worked with local business owner Dylan Aguado donate his services in maintaining and beautifying the plantings, lawns, and features at the site as a donation to the people of the Town of Wappinger.
Supervisor Cavaccini said, “Our small businesses continue to be the backbone of our Town and we are grateful for their contributions to our community. In securing this fantastic relationship with Aguado Landscaping, the New Hackensack roundabout and surrounding pocket park will be beautifully maintained and enhanced at no cost to the Town and our taxpayers. This is truly an excellent example of the public – private partnerships we have been developing under this Administration.”
Following the announcement of the “Adopt a Spot” program at the 2024 State of the Town Address, other community organizations and neighbors have officially “adopted” gateway signs throughout the Town of Wappinger, adding landscaping at the Wheeler Hill Historic District, Hughsonville hamlet, and Chelsea hamlet signs. The Town of Wappinger extends our thanks to the Highway Department for their continued mowing of these sites as well as the Hughsonville-Wheeler Hill Community Association, George Silvestri, and Curtis Stolz for their respective efforts in making our community a better place to live.
