02/12 – Local History Trivia Contest with Grinnell Library
Join Supervisor Cavaccini at this fun-for-all-ages trivia night! It will feature Supervisor Cavaccini asking questions about our Town and its local history. It will be held at Grinnell Library in the Village of Wappingers Falls from 6pm-7pm.

02/13 – Community Craft Night
Join us in this family friendly event to create your own Valentine’s Day cards! Registration is required. More information can be found on our Recreation Page.

02/14 – Renewal of the Vows
Join us on Valentines Day at the Town of Wappinger Town Hall, where Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini will perform the Town’s first-ever, resident-wide Renewal of the Vows Ceremony! We will also offer couples to be wed on this day, with ordinations done by Supervisor Cavaccini. This event is FREE , click HERE to RSVP TODAY!

Showcase Spotlight at Town Hall
For the entire month of February, the Wappinger Historical Society will be displaying a spotlight on Dahlia flowers and its rich history in Wappinger at the Wappinger Town Hall. Did you know that Wappinger used to be the Dahlia Capital of the World? It’s true! Stop by to learn more.

3/1 – St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Come one, come all! Join us in the Village of Wappingers Falls for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade! Wappinger150 will have its own float, commemorating years pasts beginning with the 1870’s. It is also First Saturday in Wappingers, so local businesses will host a variety of specials and activities for all ages. The parade is set to begin at 1pm!

3/7 – March Mingle
All Angels Montessori will be hosting a March Mingle event from 5:30-7:30pm to offer the chance for you to make valuable connections in the area! Stop by to find out more about the preschool and connect with fellow Wappinger business residents! This event will be held at the school at 229 All Angels Hill Rd, and does require an RSVP. 3/13 – Community Craft Night
Join us at the Wappinger Town Hall Senior Center for our next Community Crafting Event. This month we will be crafting Irish Coffee Mugs! This event starts at 6pm and the cost is 8$ per person. Registration is required, you may sign up HERE or call 845-297-0720 during our business hours for help with questions and more information!

4/05 – Veteran’s 5K
Come run, jog, or walk for Veterans! This 5K will be held at the VanWyck Trailhead of the Dutchess County Rail Trail starting at 8AM. This event is FREE and will require prior registration. Sign up Here!

4/05 – Egg Hunt
The Town of Wappinger and the Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Robinson Lane Park! Registration is required, please see WappingerRecreation.com for more information and sign ups.

4/26 – Wappinger’s Earth Day Cleanup
The Town of Wappinger and the Parks & Recreation Department are hosting its annual Earth Day Cleanup for Earth Day! The event consists of cleaning up our parks and roads around Town from 10am-2pm. Trash bags, gloves, t-shirts, and safety vests will be provided. If you are interested in volunteering, you may sign up at WappingerRecreation.com or by reaching out to the Supervisor’s office at 845.297.2744.

04/26 – First Annual Tuber Swap
After getting the town cleaned up for Earth Day, join us for our first-ever Tuber Swap! A Dahlia tuber is an underground structure that stores nutrients and can sprout from various points. Absorb plenty of Dahlia tips and tricks at this event and even take home your own Dahlia tuber to plant in your yard! This event is co-hosted by the Wappingers Historical Society and Carnwath Community Farming. More information may be found by contacting dahlias.in.tow@gmail.com

For the entire month of April, Wappinger Little League will be displaying a spotlight on the League’s initiatives and embrace its rich history at the Wappinger Town Hall. It will also feature positive impacts and accomplishments achieved by Little League and will continue to achieve. Stop by to check it out and learn more about signing up!

5/10 – Dahlia Planting & Care Workshop

5/17 - Community Day
Bring the whole family to The Town of Wappinger’s annual Community Day at Brexel-Shlathaus Park! We will be hosting a variety of local vendors, games and activities, a parade, and ending the night with a bright display of fireworks! We will also hold the grand opening and ribbon cutting of our new live performance stage, with multiple bands taking center stage! More details TBA.

5/17 - Paint Blast at Grinell Library
Starting at 2:00 - 3:00 PM, celebrating the Festival of the Arts

05/20 – Reenactment of Town Incorporation
Join us on the Town of Wappinger’s anniversary of its incorporation! The Town of Wappinger was officially created from the Town of Fishkill on May 20th, 1875, at the original Town Hall on Mill Street in the Village of Wappingers Falls, which is where we will host this reenactment. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting event!

05/20 – Local History Trivia Contest at Grinell Library

Dedication of Martz Field
We will be cutting the ribbon at Martz Field to officially open and dedicate the memorial built, honoring Major Daniel Martz, who the field is named after. Date TBA.

Opening of Trailhead at Reese Park
Supervisor Cavaccini will hold the official ribbon-cutting and dedication, honoring the Reese family, of the newly built trailhead at the Reese Park entrance on Route 9D in the Village of Wappingers Falls. More information TBA

6/13 - Spirit of Meiser Gala
Hosted by the Wappinger Historical Society, the Spirit of Meiser Gala will honor Kristin Catalano & County Players of Wappingers, along with the celebration of Wappinger150! It will be held at the Wappinger Historic Boathouse, located at 105 Market St, Village of Wappingers Falls from 6pm-9pm. More information can be found by calling the WHS at 845.632.1281.

Summer Concert Series
Our Yearly Summer Concert Series continues! With our newly built stage at Brexel-Schlathaus Park, you will be able to catch these evening performances every Thursday throughout the summer months! Stay tuned for more information and announcements from our Wappinger Parks & Recreation Team.
