Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini has directed that the flags at the Memorial Plaza in front of Wappinger Town Hall be lowered to half-staff in memory of former Fourth Ward Councilwoman June Visconti.

Councilwoman Visconti faithfully served the residents of the Town of Wappinger as an elected member of the Town Board from 1986 through 1997 during the administrations of former Supervisors Irene Paino and Constance Smith. Following her service on the Town Board, she continued her dedication to the community as an appointed member of the Town of Wappinger Planning Board, serving from 1998 until her relocation to Florida.

In addition to her public service, June was a successful local business owner, operating June Visconti Insurance, and was widely recognized for her commitment to the community and the residents she served.

“June Visconti devoted many years of her life to serving the people of Wappinger,” said Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini. “Whether as a Town Councilwoman, Planning Board member, business owner, or community advocate, she always worked to make our town a better place. On behalf of the Town Board and all residents, we extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.”

The Town of Wappinger honors June Visconti’s legacy of public service and dedication to the community. Flags at the Memorial Plaza will remain at half-staff in her memory.
