Wappinger, NY – Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini and the Wappinger Town Board have taken action to protect open space and initiatives that improve the quality of life for all residents by supporting a conservation easement to preserve Emerald Creek Farm in their efforts to operate a vibrant farm in the Diddell hamlet of our community.
The owners of Emerald Creek Farm have started the process to obtain a conservation easement that would directly preserve their property.
Town Supervisor Cavaccini noted that, “Emerald Creek Farm has been identified as a significant location in our own Comprehensive Plan. To ensure that this open space is preserved, in perpetuity, is increasingly important as the second most densely populated town in the County. Our commitment to support efforts such as this, will ensure that our quality of life is preserved for generations to come.”
“I am 110% proud to support this initiative to preserve Emerald Creek Farm. I have visited this property many times and it truly is a beautiful part of our Town that should remain open space. The Town Board is committed to supporting initiatives such as this.”, said Al Casella – Wappinger Town Councilman, Ward 4
