PROCLAMATION

Proclamation Applauding the United States Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT) And Team Captain Tyler Adams for Proudly Representing the United States of America in the 2022 FIFA World Cup

WHEREAS, the competitive sport of soccer is rapidly gaining recognition and support within the United States of America; and

WHEREAS, the USMNT and USWNT bring great pride to fellow American when the member athletes compete internationally under our American Flag; and

WHEREAS, the USMNT fielded a champion team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, played in Qatar; and

WHEREAS, the USMNT successfully advanced to the “knockout stage” with 5 points without losing a match; and

WHEREAS, a very seasoned Netherlands team handed the USMNT a 3-1 defeat on the soccer pitch; and

WHEREAS, Wappinger Falls local hero, Tyler Adams captained the USMNT; and

WHEREAS, all Wappinger and Dutchess County residents are extremely proud of the accomplishments of Midfielder Adams both on and off the soccer pitch; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Board of the Town of Wappinger hereby applauds the USMNT and local hero and Team Captain, Tyler Adams, for their accomplishments on and off the soccer pitch. The Town Board recognizes each and every one of the 26 members of the 2022 World Cup USMNT for their sportsmanship and leadership in their communities and in US competitive athletics.
