Town Supervisor Cavaccini and Wappinger Town Board Appoint Experienced, Bipartisan Planning Board

During the January 9, 2024 Re-Organizational Meeting of the Wappinger Town Board, Town Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini, Senior Councilman William H. Beale, and Councilman Christopher Phillips appointed four new members to the Town of Wappinger Planning Board. Councilmembers Angela Bettina and Al Casella could not attend due to illness, but share in the support of the Town’s newest appointees.

“These four new members of the Planning Board will add crucial knowledge and expertise when it comes to deciding important matters for our neighbors here in Wappinger. This highly experienced, bipartisan Planning Board will move our Town in the right direction and will see the Town Board’s vision and the Comprehensive Plan through.” stated Town Supervisor Cavaccini.

Councilman Christopher Phillips said, “During our interviews, I have never seen a more robust group of people who have stepped up with their experience. They will significantly improve our Planning Board.”

The new members of the Wappinger Town Planning Board who were appointed Monday night include:

Richard Barth – former Executive Director of the New York City Planning Department.

Robert Meehan – former Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor and Westchester County Attorney.

James Glorioso – former Dutchess County Sheriff with a background in agriculture and greenspace.

Thomas Truss, Jr. – Home inspector with expertise in construction.
